ABOUT HEP
HEP was founded in 2000 by Brad Hedrick to help owners of historical properties best deal with their antiquated electrical wiring systems while looking to preserve historical artifacts.

Handle all aspects of business management including billing, bidding, and estimates, installation of residential, commercial and light industrial electrical and data wiring.  Work with customers to develop successful lighting and power layouts.

Lead mechanic for electrical contracting company specializing in residential and commercial service calls.

Biography
Bradley L. Hedrick is a graduate of Mary Washington College (BLS in Historic Preservation).  He is a licensed Master Electrician with over 25 years experience.  He has also run his own electrical contracting business since 1987.  He is currently performing electrical restoration and rehabilitation on a number of historic properties in the Fredericksburg area.  His method of dating historic houses by their electrical wiring and materials is a unique approach to interpreting twentieth-century houses. 

Vision
Brad has an interest in preserving the existing artifacts of original installations and later alterations as an historical document.  Safety and convenience to the customer are also paramount to any project.

Electrical restoration and rehabilitation of the "Doggett House" c. 1817, Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Electrical restoration and rehabilitation of "Fall Hill" c. 1780, Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Electrical restoration and rehabilitation of the "Pump House" c. 1947, industrial facility converted to residential use.

Past President Historic Prince William, Inc. 1995-97.  County historical society involved in publishing historical maps and books.  Organized field trips, performed research, reviewed manuscripts for publication, arranged engagements for visiting speakers.




Senior research paper, Residential Electrical Wiring in Fredericksburg, Virginia. (Spring 200)  Researched evolution of residential wiring by examining a case study house and comparing it to similar examples within the city of Fredericksburg, Virginia.  Published in The Journal of Fredericksburg History by The Historic Fredericksburg Foundation, Inc. March 2001.

Prepared timeline for academic use in Historic Preservation Department, Mary Washington College and published on web at www.sparkyology.com 

Performed photo-documentation and line drafting for a number of historical properties in the Fredericksburg area, among them; "Idlewild" c. 1859, "The Fielding Lewis Store" c. 1749.
